I'm currently a welding student at my local community college. I've been using Stick Welding or Arc Welding. I haven't done MIG with these gloves. I use this glove one day a week, for 4 hours in class. When I received this I fell in love with how this looks, it feels great. When I started welding with it, I noticed my hands were getting a bit hotter than usual. It was getting a little uncomfortable to use. But I've been wearing the gloves for 4 or 5 months, I gotten used to the heat. So it's not bad. I can't imagine using this gloves for full time welding, but it would work great for short welding at a time. So if you want this for looks, I highly recommend it. But for consistency welding... I wouldn't recommend it, you can get a much better welding gloves at Air Gas for 10 bucks as oppose to this.
These gloves transmit some heat to your hands, I was really surprised how quickly my fingers warmed up in these gloves compared to a similar set of Miller gloves I just bought.
I think the Flames are cool but these will be my back up pair of gloves if the Miller ones ever wear out.
