One is for dark shade...the other for sensitivity On the inside of the helmet on the back of lens there is also two settings. Choose your mode for either welding or grinding with one switch. The other switch if for delay time Head band is fully adjustable with a turn of the back knob. Has a nice micro-fiber (soft suede like feel) forehead strap.

This helmet is for light weld only, I was try to weld Tee joints with E6011 and E6010 and all sparks got under the clear lenses not good same thing with all the smoke then after using the helmet for 2 weeks got to weld a Tee joint with E6010 5/32" a pretty much melt the clear lenses. So for someone with no experience don't get this helmet.
This is probably the best welding helmet for your money. You cant spend less and get all the features that this helmet has. Plus it even has a setting for grinding.
